Fishing trips to reset and reconnect.
No experience needed. No equipment required. Just water, patience, and good company.
“These trips have a snowball effect on veterans and I can’t thank you enough for lighting a fire in
me.”
- Tristan DeMers
ALASKA WOMEN’S FISHING TRIP 2025
More Than Just Fishing
For the people who’ve given the most, it’s about calm, connection, and the joy of being on the water.
Water has a way of quieting everything else. The rhythm of a cast, the patience of a wait- it calls for your full attention. For veterans, first responders, and their families carrying invisible weight, that focus is restorative.
The 10KO fishing program takes participants to private lakes, rivers, and coastal waters across the Southeast and beyond. Every trip comes with all the gear you need. Whether you’ve fished before or never held a rod, you belong here.
Some of life’s best moments happen quietly, by the water.
Beyond the fishing itself, these trips create something harder to quantify: connection. Participants share boats, share meals, share stories. Friendships formed on the water often outlast the trips by years.
All you need to do is show up and enjoy the experience.
What to Expect
From arrival to last cast
01
During Your Trip
Trips on the water typically begin early in the morning. The 10KO team runs you through basics and gear setup, and makes sure you’re comfortable before a single line hits the water.
02
ON THE WATER
Enjoy a weekend on the water. We’ll help you get started and offer support along the way. No pressure- just time to cast and unwind.
03
MEALS & COMMUNITY
Meals are provided during your trip. These shared meals are half the magic. Participants typically share stories, share laughs, and build the kind of camaraderie that doesn’t happen anywhere else.
04
ALL GEAR PROVIDED
Bring yourself and your ID. Everything else is covered. Participants are always welcome to bring their own gear if preferred.
05
NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED
Everyone joins the same trips, from first-timers to experienced anglers. We focus on support, shared experiences, and fun on the water.
06
Fully Supported
10KO’s donors, sponsors, and volunteers make every single trip possible at no cost to you.
